Namo Buddhaya!
Dear Friends,
We kindly invite you to join us for A Day of Mindfulness Practice on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 7 AM - 5 PM
at Vietnam Buddhist Center - Meditation Hall. We are honored to have
this Day of Mindfulness practice under the guidance of our Monastics
from Magnolia Grove Monastery in the Plum Village Tradition, Mississippi
and Monastics from Vietnam Buddhist Center, Texas.
What is A Day of Mindfulness Practice?
A
Day of Mindfulness is an opportunity for us to study, practice,
experience, and gain insight into the profound teachings of the Buddha,
which we can then apply in our lives to gain mindfulness and wisdom. It
helps us develop compassion, loving-kindness, connection among people
and connection with the nature that is present around us. It’s a day
where we set aside our usual tasks and responsibilities and dedicate
ourselves to our practice. The retreat will bring positive energies to
all of us, which we can apply at home and at work to make our lives
happier and more peaceful. Activities include guided walking and sitting meditation, chanting Sutra, Dharma Talk, mindfulness lunch and Dharma Sharing. |

Namo Buddhaya!!
We would like to invite you to our special English Dharma Service this Sunday, September 3, from 3 - 4:15pm. This week, we will continue the Ullambana celebration in honor of our parents and our ancestors. We will especially host a Rose Ceremony, which is one of the most beautiful and meaningful ceremonies in Vietnamese Buddhist tradition, first proposed by our world famous Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. For the Rose Ceremony, each of us will receive either a red or a white rose to remember the kindness and love of our parents. Come to find out what each of the colors represents.
